When it comes to spiritual teachings and spiritual teachers, too many of us have an “anything goes” mentality. We have no standards, no expectations, and no commonly accepted “outcome measures” to help us separate the spiritual wheat from the wortheless chaff. This book aims to remedy that situation by providing a set of ideas and guidelines that we can use to evaluate our spiritual teachers and the things they tell us. Instead of accepting promises of reward into the next life, we learn to define, expect, and demand results in this life.

This book is a contribution towards the professionalization of the jobs of gura and avatar. This book, aloing with the Rocket Scientists’ Guide to Discernment, and the Rocket Scientists Guide to Spiritual Indoctrination, is an attempt to raise the bar high on what counts as acceptable and worthwhile spiritual discourse.
